club Information

who are we?

We are a UBC club for students who are interested in the Nordic countries and want to meet other students who share this interest. Some members are from the Nordic region and want to strengthen their connection here in Canada, though most are simply interested in the Nordic region and want to learn more about it and participate in activities from different cultures alongside a community of students.
We are associated with the Central, Eastern, and Northern European Studies Department.

What do we do?

We are a social and academic club. This means that although all of our activities are connected to Nordic cultures, some of them are focused on socializing (pub nights, movie nights, dance parties), and others are academic in nature (trivia nights, guest lectures). See our Events Page for more about what we do!

How can i join?

Anybody is welcome to join the SNSA! Membership is only $5 for the entire academic year. You can join as a general member and come to as many of our events as you want, or you can take on a more involved role. For example, you can participate in the Lucia choir in the fall, or you can sign up to be an SNSA volunteer and help plan and run events throughout the year. See the Home Page for more info on volunteering & membership!
